If anyone's interested i've listed a nice Paul Mottey snake wood Hoppe style cue on ebay. The cue is in excellent condition and i'm listing it for sale because I bought another Mottey cue at the US Open this past September which makes a total of 3 of Paul's cues that I own including the cue i've listed for sale. I'll take the best offer over $1500 for the cue. Let me know if you're interested by PM or this thread. Just curious if you may be interested in trades (cues, or cue and cash deals). I'm sure it was stated in the ebay description but I think I know this cue so I didn't even click on the link. Yes. I'm that lazy! :D

I might be interested in a trade for the right cue, but my reason for listing this cue for sale is that I bought another Mottey cue at the US Open this year and i've made that cue my main playing cue. The Hoppe style cue is nice, but I wanted a cue with some inlays and trim rings. You don't need inlays and trim rings to play pool as we all know, but the cue I bought just looked right to me and I couldn't pass it up.

OMG! What a gorgeous cue! Classic good looks. I'm in love. AND it's an ivory joint and ivory ferrules, like all of my cues.

Hey, is it a full splice cue? No rings at C,D and butt matching the points is why I ask.

Why now? Why not 3-4 more weeks? Why, why, why must you tease me like this?

GREAT looking cue. Best of luck with the sale. If, by some miracle, it's still available after T'giving - look me up. I'll take it then.

I'm 90% sure it's not a full splice cue because I don't think Paul Mottey builds full splice cues and if i'm wrong maybe someone will post to this thread and let us know.

I'm sure it's not full splice... cuemakers seem to despise using snakewood for a full spliced cue because it is so brittle... I'd be willing to bet there is a butt sleeve that is cored..

btw - if you want to take a nice cocobolo Jensen with ivory hoppe ring and 2 shafts + cash in trade, I'd be happy to talk!

Paul and Jim DO make full splice cues. I've seen a few, and the ones I've seen have an FS next to the signature.
