Moving to Austin, TX and looking for a team

I will be a resident of Austin at the end of the month(Jan 28 to be exact). Looking for a team to play with as I know absolutely nobody in Austin except for my gf who is moving with me(she also loves to shoot).

I have played in the APA for years, and had a brief stint in the PAPA when it was in my area.

Looking for an in house league, preferably in N. Austin, I will be living in NW Austin right off mopac. I could care less if it's APA, BCA, etc, just looking to shoot, have fun and learn. Also if there is room for 2 my gf would love to join also, she is a 3 in APA 8-ball.

I am a 5 in APA 8 and a 6 in APA 9 at the moment, playing in a solid division in MA, so I am not sure how that stacks up to the competition in Austin.

Please send me a pm if you have/know of an open slot. I am not sure what the division schedules are in this area so it may be too late, but it is worth trying.

I am going out to shoot now, so I will most likely check back in in the morning and bump etc.

Thanks in advance,
Joe

Come to pool school at the Warehouse Saloon on Ben White. It's free every Sunday at 1:00 and taught by Master Instructor Rod Gustafson. You will learn a lot and get a lot of info on what is available in and around Austin.

As far as APA goes playoffs start this week. Next week + 4 week grace period for team changes means you have plenty of time.

As far as whats in the area..

Slick Willies Has APA double jeapordy leagues every night but monday and saturday. 2 9 foot GC's and a horde of 8 foot gandys.

Shennanigans up 183 is more bar like with only 5 or so coin op tables I think. They have a stage. Good loud music last time I popped in.

Shooters is farther north up 183 and they are GODDAMNED PACKED most nights. as in no f - in parking packed.

The Grand off Airport Can be dead and jamned packed. I think they have BCA leagues there. Have 9 foots 8 foots and coin op barboxes.

Skinny Bobs up in Round Rock has APA Masters division league. Hosts the Texas Open.

Buffalo Billiards on 6th street is a cesspool of drunken college kids. Not a place where I would bring a stick. and theirs are terrible. Nice if you like to look at barely legal ass.

Clicks on Oltorf I was so drunk when I went there I cant remember shit all but it had a good comphy atmosphere. I think they do APA there some nights.

Fast Eddies in Round Rock has Nice Tv's and bar but waiting for a table is BS.

Look up Skinny Bobs. It has all 9 ft gold crowns. Home of the Texas Open. They run in house leagues. The premier spot in Austin by far.

They will get you on a team.
Send me your info in a PM, I'll get you in contact with a good guy to get you on a team

APA on Tuesday and Wednesday nights on the 8 footers. The 9 footers run a non league 9-ball tourney.
