is there a more irascible, charming chronicler of the florida regional pool scene than mr. dwight sisson?

every wednesday he -- runs, yells at, and dines during -- a tallahassee 9-ball tourney. it's on:

http://breaknrunz.com/videos.html

and

http://ontherailtv.com/ontherailtv/

and other places i'm just learning about.

now knowing mr. dwight is not an unencumbered pleasure! the first time my mom watched the tallahassee two-step, he hit on her! i explained that she is married, um, to my dad?

he didn't miss a beat, charmed a waitress out of an extra side of fries and moved on. my mom though he was so funny!

i have my gf's tuning in when they can, they don't really care that much about pool, but appreciate a free spirit.

you should expect an occasional f-bomb, followed by a completely insincere apology!

but what most people love most is mr. dwight's love of laughter. he responds to our lame chat comments with gusto! gusto way out of proportion to our wit!

oh, i should mention? he loves pool, the players and describing the action.

cheers!

I'm happy to rebut this nonsense. I think Dwight's broadcasts are offensive and bad for the credibility of pool. Technically his streams are good however his unprofessionalism on the microphone is not.

I think Dwight is a nice guy who has his heart in the right place. I think his numbers (often more moderators than viewers) should tell him that he's doing something wrong but he's enabled by his chat buddies.

I wish Dwight well but somebody's got to tell him that's he's not so damn charming as he thinks especially for people who are actually interested in watching good pool.

All you ever do is post a bunch of negative stiff about people. Why don't you grow up?

I am not sure who you are, but for you to call me out as well as some of the stellar supporters pool has got to be the epitomy of arrogance. I would invite you to host your own stream on your dime and see how much fun it is to be able to hold a stream every week. I enjoy my hobby and in no way think I am a professional. My best to you sir.

I think you're pretty close sunny. It's obvious Dwight loves the game and likes to have a little fun during commentary. I like watching because #1 its Pool and Dwight is always on the mike to keep things moving along. The depth of good players is a little thin but the tourney finishes at a reasonable hour, I like that! Unfortunately I won't be able to tune in for a while but carry on Dwight, you're doing a fine job.

streams

I have to admit that Dwight is definitely unique. His and James' efforts to continue live streaming of a bunch of self-centered, thankless, and childish pool "players" are commendable.

Whether his personality matches yours doesn't matter. If you have ever been to a comedy club and listened to the "new breed of comedian" you should be aware of four-letter words. They don't try to not offend. He is at least trying to follow his own dream. Remember, you can turn off the sound, if it's toooo harsh for you.

He has religiously been there EVERY Wednesday to put on the tournament and even get some sponsorship for the other "players". The effort expended may be easy to criticize, but just try and do it yourself and find out what it takes.

Unless you have walked in someone's shoes, you don't know the pain they experience. See if you can do better. If you can, then we will have another stream to watch, at your expense.

i try to watch every week.takes me away from my usual grind.dwight has a great sense of humor and as sunny put it a "freespirit".
i let my kids watch(they love it too).i hear the occasional (maybe more)f-bomb being dropped.does it bother me?no.why?because they hear it everywhere nowadays and i would rather them hear it in fun and laughter than in anger.is that the right thing to say or do?don't know but they enjoy the show as do i.never heard my kids say one curse word but if i did i would rather it be with dwights sense of happiness and laughter than in anger.hope this makes sense.i say thanks to all you streamers to bring us your individual personalities online for all to see and hear.it can't be easy.

keep up the good work dwight...see u next week:thumbup:

Klink, you are talking about mlalum of course ?

I am not sure who you are, but for you to call me out as well as some of the stellar supporters pool has got to be the epitomy of arrogance. Dwight

Hi Dwight. This guy mlalum is just very ornery. some people look at the world through rose colored glasses. mlalum i am sure looks through some kind of gray dingy mf'in glasses. Anywhere he goes around the internet he always starts out by trying to get under somebodys skin. Don't let him bother you D. He is hardly worth the trouble. he is definatly not a pool icon that considers any kind of merit ,but he is entitled to his opinion. hehe

I JUST KEEP WONDERING WHY HIS NAME IS NOT BLUE LIKE ALL THE OTHER MEMBERS. LOOK AT HIS AVATAR AND SEE FOR YOURSELF !

IS HE FAKING HIS MEMBERSHIP ? MAYBE HE COULD ANSWER THIS HIMSELF.

I though mr lalum was getting better as of late but now he bashes Dwight. Not good !

Ok, Sunny, very nice post. Dee White (for those who don't visit the stream, that is how I always address Dwight) is a REALLY fun guy who obviously has a love for pool, as well as all the other crazy things that go on in all our lives (Some call it ZEST, but that sounds too soapy to me). The chatroom isn't always pool related, but the commentary on the chatroom is PRICELESS. It's a FUN experience in the form of a pool stream, and not just your typical, "I think he's going to have to go 3 rails to get shape on that 5 ball". There are some more than decent players that participate in the weekly tourney....so, there is some good to very good play going on. Personally I don't need someone to describe every shot to me, and appreciate the occasional off color banter that you'd find and likely participate in (admit it) in any poolroom.

So, Dee - keep up the good work buddy, and don't let the comments of one guy who can find fault in anything get you down, old man :p You and "tipless" have a production I always TRY to drop in on (and look forward to) on Wednesdays.....so, along with Lenny's stream - that's a couple of hours of decompression for me!! MANY THANKS! Oh, and Dee, one last thing - next time, you don't have to fake a food poisoning illness to duck me at the Derby....just be honest and admit your FEARS!!!! ;) :p

PS. bummed I missed the stream last nite....was in the Lou (StL) watching my Cards shut out the Braves. I did somehow end up hearing and participating in some not perfectly proper banter at the ballpark as well (imagine that), and Puhols' shiny head took the place of Jimmy's...
