Anyone ever see this? Would you reccomend it. I want to start recovering my own tables. I have done a few in the past but want to learn to the rails better I always had help with these before. Any input would help. Thanks

recover

If you are unfamiliar with the process any place is a starting point. IMHO I wouldn't pay much more than about $20 for it. What kind of table do you have? What kind of cloth will you be using?

K-steel tables will be using 860 simonis on all 10. I think the DVD is like $50 or so. Well worth the price.

That depends on who made the DVD, and how accomplished they are at recovering pool tables...don't you think? I mean, just exactly who made the DVD and what kind of back ground does he/she have in recovering pool tables, and just as importantly, what kind of pool tables are they talking about learning to recover?

It's in my near future plans to produce DVDs specific to recovering pool tables broke down into specific area's of recovering tables IE: Bar table slates, rails, removing old glue, leveling the table, re-gluing rubber, replacing facings..etc. Then Diamond, Brunswick, feather stripped rails, feather strip replacement, facing shimming..etc. Then how to install cloth on 3 piece slates as well as 1 piece slates without having to staple the cloth between pockets, yet install the cloth tighter than you can with a staple gun. Because in the event the slate backer boards are stapled out, broken, or missing...a staple gun is useless.

I have been all over the country, as well as Canada and Alaska, and have yet to see any billiards technician's work that has impressed me as of yet. As of to date, the only technician's that even come close to my work...I trained.

The mechanics that have done our work in the past have been Mark Gregory(maggots) and this guy who was from Chicago named Tony I don't remember his last name but he worked for K-steel Maggots did the best work I would say. I agree the dvd is only as good as the guy making it and his work.

You want to learn how to recover your own pool tables, then find a good technician in your area, offer to help him for free to pay your dues so to speak, then learn hands on by actually being shown what, how, and why.

If learning to recover pool tables was so easy, there would"t be so many hack's out here!
