Met up with our young friend Chi Wai yesterday in Mishima. This time he brought his lovely better half with him. It was really good seeing him again and really nice to meet his girlfriend......she's really tall. hehe!!
Anyway, the last time we met up in Tokyo I was shooting very poorly and lost just about every set we played. This time, I didn't feel that I was shooting all that bad but Chi Wai once again took the opportunity to make me his b1tch for a day. I think we played 7 or 8 sets total. We were doing races to 5. I won one set 5-4 and he took all the rest. The sad part is that there were 2 sets where I had him down hill-0 and he came back and won, both times. I just couldn't put it together. But that is not to take anything away from our young friend here. He was playing really well yesterday. Matter of fact, I think he played better yesterday than he did the last time we met. I swear to God, you should see this kid cut balls down a rail. It's like a paper thin slice and he just knocks them out like they're hangers. I got a few bad rolls but in all fairness, they were my mistakes. Oh well, it was a good day.
Funny part of the day was he tried to slice a ball across the end rail from the other end of the table and he missed it. Turns out he left me the exact same shot on the other side of the table. So I told him, "You're not the only one that can slice balls like that, watch this" then I got down and sliced her right across to the pocket not even getting close to brushing the rail. HAHA!! I stood up and told him that the old man still has a few shots left in him. hehehehe!! You had to be there.
Well, if nothing else, all this 3 cushion I've been playing for the past year has paid off for my kicking game. One of my weakest areas has always been kicking. Yesterday I was a kicking fool, 2-3-4 rails. I was really happy to see that part of my game coming along. I was banking fairly well too.
Anyway, ChiWai shoots straight up and he took me to school. I will sit here right now and openly say that he makes balls better than I do. I was really impressed with his play yesterday.
Last set we did a race to 10 for a dollar a game and pay the difference in the final score. I lost that set 10-7 and had to cough up 3 bucks. See the photo of me making payment.
ChiWai, I had a great time yesterday and am looking forward to our next meeting. I think we basically settled on sometime in October? You have a safe trip home and to the States and drop me a line when you get back. Give our best to your lovely better half.....and make sure you bring her with you when you come down here.
