murnak case owners

i've noticed that on murnak cases the tubes are flush with the top of the case... is it hard to get the shafts out of the case like this? especially with joint protectors... the lid doesn't look like it allows for much in terms of making the top of the shaft sit higher than the tube itself. anybody have problems with this? i don't own a murnak so i don't even know if this is an issue but from the pictures it looks like it could be...

I have 2 cases from Jim, but I ordered mine with inset tubes so I would not have this problem. I think he charges 10 or 15 dollars to inset the tubes.

Murnak Cases

I concur there will be no problem with the inserts that come with each case.
If you have something extra long, just check with Jim on the case length.

I do not think there is any extra charge for these inserts.

I have had problems in this area with other cases over the years, but not with Murnak. The spacers that he provides allow you to raise the butt and shafts above the tube. The top of the cap is foam-filled so that when you close the cap the foam compresses and holds the components so that they don't rattle around. When I open my case the shafts stick up about a half-inch and are easily grab-able.

Short butts and shafts can be raised using the spacers, but if you have unusually long components you should check with Jim when you order the case. My problem was that my components are a little shorter than average.
