Musashi???

Musashi

Musashi cues are made by Adam-Japan. The same company that once made Adam, Helmstetter, Orchid, Strambolini & Balabushka (repro) cues.

Thanks for the info, that makes me even more curious as to why the outrageous price on this cue.

does it look like ga young kims cue? I thought they were of only a few custom cue builders in Japan? Awfully pricey for a Adams.
You're right I found them on Adams -Japan website. The top of the line was 230000 yen. I think thats right around 2k.

No,the cue looks nothing like a SW,it looks like a very busy cue, lots of inlays, click on the link.

Musashi is a custom cue made in Japan.
They have invented a special shaft which has gained great popularity in Asia in recent years.
Musashi's work and its playability is first class. It is not in the same class as an Adam, which is now manufactured in China.

it says on the forearm.. Custom Made of Musashi, makes you think Musashi is wood or something.. it should say made by or like the guy in the desc. said custom made by musasho..lol kinda funny how they printed that but hand signed the date?

I thought the name might have to do with the legendary Japanese swordsman Miyamoto Musashi. There are all sorts of books and movies about this historical figure including three very good films starring Toshiro Mifune.

BTW those Musashi cues are on the Adam Cues website

Most people buy Musashi because they like the shaft. As for the name, I have never tried to find out so it is possible that it is named after a swordman in the past.

I had a hollywood points with veneers into ebony nose Musashi before, it was a top notch cue.

A lot of players are now playing with a Musashi shaft.

Yes, Musashi cues are made by Adam Japan. Their Musashi cues are Adams attempt to compete with the high end custom cue market. Not to mention, the popularity of Mezz cues. They are made well, and play very well. The 'Custom Made of Musashi" that is writen on the forearm? I've never seen one with that print. They're usually printed with "Masterpiece of Musashi." And yes, the name Musashi comes from the famous Japanese historical figure named Musashi.
The only problem I have with them is that they're very pricey. Although I wouldn't think twice about paying $2,000 for a cue that playes like a Musashi, I still feel that not only should you be paying for a good player, but the cue should have a name to go with it in order to mainain resale value, or to at least insure a secure investment. Musashi is pretty much unknown outside Japan, so for the same amount of money for a cue that plays the same, I'd spend my money on a bigger name.

Just a quick sidenote, Nick van den Berg plays with a Musashi.

Nick told me Musashi sent him a cue to congratulate him on his marriage, which is, in my opinion, a very rare and nice gesture from a cue maker.

Nick is such a great player and a very nice guy, I am very happy that he is using a X breaker. Speaking from personal experience, I can totally understand why Musashi or any sponsor would be pleased with working with him.

NOT knocking hit,playability,shaft,etc.........I can see why American made cues do so well in Asia.
