Anyone near there? I'm heading there Sunday for about a month to work and wanting to get out an play some. I know Davenport is pretty close by.

Ha...funny to see little old Muscatine mentioned here. I'm from there originally and most of my family is still there. I didn't play pool while living there though so I don't really know much about the scene, I hear there is a place to play but I don't know a thing about it. Davenport is a very quick jaunt however and is probably a good option.

You'll also be about 20 minutes from Pat Diveney's shop, he might be a good resource to get some info on the local scene and he could probably put you in touch with some local players. He's an incredibly nice guy, I stopped by his shop a while back and I have a feeling he has a good read on the local scenes.

Have a Maid-Rite, stop down to Boonies and get some of their onion rings (they copied the recipe from a local drive in called the Cheri-Top and they are a Muscatine classic, though Boonies version is just as tasty and less greasy...plus you can get a quality beer while you're at it), and hit up the Yacky Shack for their dumplings.

It's a small town, not a whole lot going on, so you should have plenty of time to play if you find a good spot.

It's surreal seeing little old Muscatine mentioned on AZB...go to Sharky's! They have everything you need...lots of tourneys, good tables, action for all levels, and a good bar & grill. [/end thread]

Sounds like I need to go visit Sharky's next time I go back home for a visit.
