Im sure this topic has been discussed but im gona bring it up anyway...alot of people are using Ipods and blue tooth tech. to listen to music while they play pool. How many of you use this when you play pool. I saw the pic of BJ Ussery in Maryland and he had headphones on ...i wonder if it helps you focus...or is it more of a distraction. I know i like to listen to music before I play...it gets me pumped up..but listen during play...i dont know?

I listen to mp3's while practicing, and have done it in game situations. It really works well IMO when there isn't a loud soundsystem in the background.
It also blocks out a lot of unneccesary attempts at conversation by my opponants
and in several cases has blocked the types who talk constantly during the match; to you, at you, at the wall, to the wall, to the spectators, to the table, at the balls, etc.
Been playing without lately, and haven't noticed much difference. I suppose it is all in what you get used too.
I will say that it does offer some mood enhancement. Select a slower bluesy song if too excited or a fast up pace song for when you need to bust out of a funk.
