Music to practice to

breakup

This year at the BCA tournament I noticed quite a few players using ipods when they practice. They are getting smaller and more convenient all the time. That made me think back when I lived with my parents and could listen to anything George Benson “Breezn” was my go to for 14.1 practice. That tune really got me fired up to play and I still get the old rush when playing and that tune comes on in the pool hall. Anybody else got any favorite tunes that make you feel like playing?

breakup,
Any tune from my teenage years poolhall jukebox; when I hear these tunes I can't help but think of hanging out, shooting with the guys.

Me and Bobby McGee
Riders on the Storm
Whole Lotta Love
No Time
Undun
All Along the Watchtower
Hey Joe
The Wind Cries Mary
Somebody to Love
Albert Flasher
Wooden Ships
Brother Love's Travelling Salvation Show

Geez, I can almost remember the jukebox number for most of them.

P.S. - sorry I couldn't think of anything insulting to say, I'll get you next time.

You used to jam with George Benson didn’t you?

I wanted to hear about some of the other greats in Willie's life like when John Glenn gave you flying lessons, Julia Child was your cooking merit badge counselor, Dr. Stephen Hawking was your algebra tutor, Salvador Dali taught you how to sketch the pirate for the free art test in the back of Popular Mechanics and John Holmes taught you about the birds and the bees.

...but you dodged that bullet.

Everything Classic Rock. Just to name a few:

Led Zeppelin
Rolling Stones
Cream/Clapton
The Doors
Pink Floyd
CCR
Joplin
Hendrix

Wendy<---definitely born too late... :o

When I want loud stuff, anything by Atmosphere
When I want chill stuff, anything by PSR (see my signature)

breakup,
Okay, the gloves are off, no more Mr. Nice Guy. I tried to take the high road, but noooooooo, you wouldn't leave it alone.

I will admit that I have been very fortunate. Rather than list all of the famous people I've met, jammed with, played with, and taken lessons from; I thought I would just post YOUR list.

Flying lessons = JFK Jr.
Cooking merit badge counselor = Mrs. Douglas on Green Acres
Algebra tutor = Homer Simpson
Ethics professor = O.J. Simpson
Romance advisor = Pee Wee Herman

P.S. - Airline tickets to Vegas = $500
Hotel room for 7 nights = $750
Meals for a week = $200
Lap dances and tips = $6,000
Seeing breakup lose to a one-armed 6 year old in the BCA = PRICELESS

Neo soul
jazz
some ol'skol r&b
the sound track house of flying daggers..

For practice, I'm still listening to Manson's "Beautiful people" and "Personal Jesus", recently added Johnny Cash's version of "Hurt" to my list.

Foe me it's what they play in the pool hall, so it goes from one end to another almost. So i'm forced to get the feeling during my drive in there. And in my car it differce between Guns'n'Roses to Hendrix to some stuff from late 60's/early-mid 70's...not to forget Uriah Heep.

led zeppelin/radiohead, depending on the day.

(i'm one of the guys with ipods in the poolhall)
