Hi David,

That is a beautiful cue. Could you tell me who the maker is? I can't make it out from the pic.
The great thing about cues is they don't beat up on you when you're not playing well :) Although I swear mine yells at me sometimes...

Regards,
Dave

The above cue is made by McDermott. It's either a D-25 or D-24, if I remember correctly. Of course i could be mistaken on the model number. It was made in the early 80's.

The D series, in my humble opinion, was the last production cues that McDermott made that was a decent hitting cue. They also had a little better quality in this line - after this they tended to use a lot of decals in their cues. The line still looks nice, but just not as much inlay in them...unless it is one of their special editions.

And it IS a nice looking cue. I have always liked the McDermott line - D and before.

This cue is a D21, which was given to me in 1985. My cue was one of the the prototypes for this model in the D series. I recieved this cue after my Custom Gus Szamboti was stolen at a local pool hall. This cue has served me well over the years, and still hits as pure as ever. BTW, my Szamboti that was stolen 18 years ago would be worth almost 10K today. I hope whoever has it now appreciates it. I'd never trade my best friend to get the Szamboti back.

I was browsing through the mcdermott website and i saw this cue...i was like hmmm i've seen this before in this forum i checked and was right. Very nice cue. In mint condition it's worth $450. Very nice.

Getting your cue(s) stolen is always despicable. Sorry to hear that, especially because it was a late Gus Szamboti's cue, worth a lot of money these days...
Anyway, McD is a good cue and your cue seems to be very nice indeed !

I first saw the D line at one of those gameroom stores in the malls in the '80s, and I've liked them ever since. One of these days, I'll get a D-20.
