I don't know what this is. Got it from an old relative. Said he's had it for years. Part of me says it's absolute junk and part of me says it might be worth something. I hope all you guys who know old cues can help me out.

Check out the pics and please reply if you know anyhting about my cue.

Tony

WOW !!what you have there is what we call the brown stick made bye balabuska it's a proto type worth $1,000,000,000.00. No I have no idea kinda different looking cue hope it turns out good for ya.I never seen one.Kinda intresting!:D :D

Cue seems to be a solid rosewood or something like that. It hits pretty good and is kinda short. I'ts like a 57 maybe even 56.5. Not sure. Well I hope TATE or ClassicCues can help me out and everyone else out there that can help me identify this thing.

It might be but the pin isn't in the shaft. It has one of those old brass looking joints and it has a 5/16-18 thread. Look closely at the joint maybe someone can be able to tell what it is. An old adams or something. I haven't the slightest clue. Let me know guys.

Tony,

I'm pretty sure it's an Adam joint from the mid 1980's. If not, it's something similar using the same parts. Although there were a lot of cues using that joint screw and collar, the shaft insert Adam used had that same thick flat shoulder on it. The insert's shoulder covers the entire tenon like a built in flat washer.

I don't think the butt was meant to come apart like that. I think the sleeve was threaded on with a dowel like that and glued, but I am not sure. It sure looks like it's supposed to stay inside the cue.

If it's an Adam, the same guys that built the cue in the 1980's in Japan are still around. We've had very good luck in having them identify their cues. Just e-mail these pics to them at:

Good luck!

It is similar to the imported Rich cues. All the Rich cues in the BB (both 2nd and 3rd editions) are window cues made by Imperial corp in Taiwan in the 1970's. They used a lot of Adam cue parts. They don't have one that looks like this. I have a later rich catalog too with other models but this one is different.
