This is a long ordeal.
I purchased this cue from Jeff Eason a couple years ago, AS some remember by the threads, i was not happy AT ALL but that is not what this thread is for so please Jeff save your wind on this.
When i got it and realized it was not a good cue i took it to a local builder who I admire alot and asked what he could do with it.
He looked at my ebony full splice with a white pvc butterfly splice in it and shook his head, He said he could play with it and make it into a real cue.
I told him it would stay inmy possession so i wanted bright green in it and that was about it.
You can be the judge of the results,
For the situation i am very happy, it is a great playing cue and it is black and green which i wanted but has enough flare to catch some attention

no sorry

Sorry at the time when i had the cue i dodnt have a home computer i had to use my works computer and they didnt wantme uploading images on the work computer
but it was just a oversized ebony blank with a very horribly done pvc butterlfy and the finish was very bad but that is not why i started this thread, mainly just to show what some patience got me on a crappy deal

bump

Has anyone ever had a similar issue sending off someones cue to another builder and haveing them fix the problems. These pictures dont do this justic but from what it was it is now pretty sweet, not very high end but also not a pvc and cracked full splice

Eason is a joke

When I first started to collect cues I saw a nice looking cue on this site Eason built so I ordered one from him. After about 2 months the cue turned into a snake, the rings all popped out, the shaft would not screw onto the butt and the tip fell off. I tried calling him but he would not answer and at the time a few people were getting screwed by him so I gave up.

Lesson Learned

Hey Ben

Looks much better.
The only Eason conversion cue on the planet.
Probably a collectors item.

I tried it one time, but it was worse when I got it back.
Didn't quite work out.
To be fair though, it wasn't a big cue like an Eason sneaky...:grin-square:

conversion

i figure this will be as valuable as a hoppe conversion someday:grin: Are there any takers:rolleyes:

which builder

there are all kinds of builders to choose from, i dont want to say who did mine due to the circumstance and he may not want me to but ithinkhe did a great job with what he had to work with and others love the cue
Id send my eason tribute blank to jensen or cog or scruggs to give it sokme flare
:grin-square:

tony or

zam or southwest would do a great job too. Heck, ted, you buy everything on quivers of four i can get ya started with the first one

that is a great idea

I never thought of useing it for a plunger, that would have been cheaper,
THank god he didnt turn it down any farther so my builder could do something with it
that was darn nice of ya to give him a cue mr sly, props to you:thumbup:

You all should be assamed of yourselves!

They make great stakes for tomatoes but tomotoe stakes work better!
Nick:)

uses

who would a thought a cue had so many uses
I have been pondering useing some bar cues for something architectural inmy house but all ive came up with is a porch railing
but my garden can use them now too

Who ever this cuemaker is he should get ACA Cue Maker of the Year! For taking a Eason cue and making it into a playable cue.

no kiddin

:grin:i would agree, he originaly thought i was rude for my original post about the cue when i got it but when he saw it he was in awe. the first thing he did was pop the ferrule off, and then take a razor blade to the pvc butterfly till part of that came off,
so i agree he should win a award of some sort

Lol...

Eason will certainly live on forever in the Hall of Shame ...The bad thing is he still sells cues but has changed his name so many times just to be able to sell one or two before changing it again.

I about fell out of my chair when I saw the plunger ... Maybe that would be a better sideline for Eason Cues...
