My Experience with Pixie

I do not usually do this kind of post here, because I always feel that a transaction should be a private matter.

I purchased a cue from Pixie, who is located in the Singapore.

I asked him to use FedEx to ship me the cue, and he did. I received the cue, and there were only three shafts sitting in the tube.

I emailed Pixie, and he was very quick in his response telling me that he did send me the whole cue. Needless to say, I had problem believing that since all I could see were three shafts.

Later on, I was informed that the butt was held by US Wildlife in Alaska.

Pixie kept very close attention to how he could help me during the whole process. After a month has gone by, he still PM and emailed me to check on how things were going with the butt.

I called the cue maker, and called the officer who confiscated my cue and the whole process went on for more than two months. Pixie did not just take my money and forget about me, mind you, I almost gave up on the cue myself; but Pixie did not.

After getting a lot of help from a lot of people, finally, the officier in Wildlife agreed to send the cue back to me with a penalty.

Pixie offered to split half the penalty with me.

I know a lot of members here are a bit hesitant in buying from outside of the US, especially from Asia. But my experience with Pixie makes me believe Pixie is a guy you can be comfortable dealing with. He went far and above and beyond to make sure I am satisfied.

If everything goes smoothly in a deal, it is not that difficult to make a customer happy; but I truly believe it shows the real character of a dealer when things do not work out well.

In my case, the custom issue was very tricky and difficult, not to mention time consuming. Most sellers would have just said "well, too bad" and move on.

Pixie never gave up and he did everything he could to assist me in helping me to get my cue back. His outstanding customer service went beyond the expected duty of a seller.

I would highly recommend Pixie to the buyers here on the forum. In my opinion, his customer service is top notch, and he is very trustworthy and dependable.

Thank you.

Richard,

The FedEx went to Alaska custom office, right? I've experienced before where FedEx through Alaska was searched (my cue did not have ivory). I posted this information on other threads.

For Singapore shipment to me, I get it EMS (through Singapore Post) and did not have any issue. For some reason, any shipment that goes through Alaska is highly scrutinized, at least in my experience.

I'm glad everything worked out for you in the end and thanks for sharing your experience with us.

The officer I talked to was a senior officer who was very experienced with cues. He was actually very polite and friendly. I am sure he has searched and confisticated many cues before. He knew too much about cues to be doing it the first time.

He told me they use some spectrum test to determine if a piece of inlay is ivory. He told me the only 100% way to test it is to take the inlay out. He also knew about ivorene and other materials.

Did your cue actually have ivory...if not what kind of crock penalty were they trying to lay on you...I'd fly there and kick some customs sphincter in....

Craig,

The officer can hold my cue and let it sit in the dark forever. He can also sell my cue after a certain period of time. He does not even have to answer my phone. My only legit option is to file an appeal. This officer even FedEx me back the butt, not even one single scratch.

I feel very lucky in this incident, and I am very thankful.

Glad to hear you got your cue finally in the end....................What nightmere that could be.

How much was the penalty??

Just curious, how much did they hit you for? And what kind of cue was it??
A buddy locally has had a cue coming in from the Philippines confiscated before and never to be returned!!!
Luckily the cuemaker made him another cue for free.

Yeah I will highly recommend pixie also. He is a great guy. Anyway glad to know that your cue is in your very own safe hands now Richard.

Richard, can you post a pic on the cue. I like to see how much Ivory that got the cue held up. I have many friends that send cues with Ivory joint from Asia and never got held up.

My first thought would be for you to not capitialize the first letter in every word. It is a pain in the a$$ to read. And then when you need caps, like USA it is only Usa.

I'm sure you won't lose any sleep over this but I would guess that most people just skip your post after trying to read the first line or two.

Just my 2 cents.
