Hi Jeff

Its not for sale. Dennis emailed me to ask if I mind this cue being featured in the Billiards Digest article. I thought that was a nice touch from him, he didn't have to do that. I concur with Dak21st and other folk, Dennis is a great individual. Obviously a busy man and unable to answer every call he gets.

Meticulous doesn't even come close to doing this cue justice. The amount of time and effort Dennis put into this creation is apparent as soon as you pick it up.

I posted the cue to qualify my comments. Dennis Searing will be recognised as one of the greatest cue makers of all time, if he isn't already.

I absolutely do not want to get involved in all the bashing comments this site receives, I just like to talk about cues.

Simon

PS: Jeff, you have some nice cues

Hi Chady

Haven't spoken to you for a while!!

Whats the Southwest and Zyler situation? Do you have anything for me? :D

So this is where you guys have all been hiding. Well I am here now. I will post some cues from time to time to show you what I have been up to.

...and yes mate, you are still on the list, Jeff is also. There are about 30 collectors after this one, he, he!

Hi Misel

The wrap is elephant ear skin. It feels incredible. It is firm but not as hard as lizard or boars hide. Just right in my mind. My playing cue has a lizard wrap though.

Great cue Si and it sounds like a good investment in addition to being a very nice cue.

Awesome Cue

I was at his shop numerous times watching that cue being built. It is simply an awesome cue. Dennis does sometimes get a bad rap for taking a long time for delivering a cue, but how about SW. I mean 5 years, wow.

Searings are definetly worth the wait.

and add me to the list if you ever want to get rid of that one. I wanted it while he was making it. Actually, there aren't manny I wouldn't want that he has made or is making. Can't wait to get my new one, it has only been in his book for about 2 years, so sometime next year I would imagine.

Super veneer work in the box points. True craftsmanship!

Are those recut points? Hard to see if they are mitered at the box-corners... actually I don't see it. I could imagine the workhours behind that cue... awesome craftsmanship

WOW!!!!! I love the way he extended the veneers into the area between the points. No wonder the guy has the rep he has.

Thanks guys, glad you like it. The points are re-cut. The shocking thing is, the flame maple in one of the re-cuts is made from a single piece of maple, so the flame is bookmatched all the way round the cue in each of the 4 points, incredible detail.

The ivory rings have been milled seperately as one piece, not inlaid. Check out the Billiards Digest article, Dennis explained that this took many hours to achieve, then he had to inlay the silver diamonds on top. Also, the copper inpregnated flame maple in the rings is notoriously hard to work with, it cracks at the slightest wiff of a blade. So I can't imagine how long each shaft took to make, let alone the cue.

Anyway, glad to show it.

I will post some of my James White cues soon.

Thank you again. Its funny, when I came to purchase this cue I had the chance of a very nice Gus Szamboti at the same time.....I went with Dennis. Now, I missed out on the Szam, which I regret but I don't regret buying the Searing. Would have been nice to have both though :D
