This is the first machine I had for sanding shafts. It is a sewing machine motor on a 40 " channel iron. I have had it for about 10 years and I still use it for sanding. It uses the foot petal from the sewing machine to control the speed. Your equipment doesn't have to be fancy to make money with it. I have replaced the brushes about 3 times in 10 years. I keep this in an area I can control the dust.
