I guess the most difference is the balance. You feel the cue is light in your hand. And if you let the cue do all the work, meaning throwing the cue to the cue ball, you will feel effortless when playing.

I just had the chance to test it a bit. I don't know how a full joint Searing hits. but this half joint feels more like wood to wood, most solid and true hit that I have experienced on SS joints

balance is awesome also, and I would bet it is mostly down to the half joint

Love it. Bet I'd love it even more if I could hit a few racks with it. That cue is awesome and thanks for the pics.
 
Combination lock

I had to look at this beauty again and just now noticed the combination lock on the case. Not actually theft proof, but I love the concept of it. I'm sure others have seen a case like this, but it's the 1st time I've noticed one. Once again, very nice cue OP.
