If we're going to sell pool to TV execs and the public it's got to be a faster paced game. Bonus Ball is a good try, and I wish it well, but I fear that it's too far removed from the game most people know: 8-ball.
Here's my recommendation -- and I'd appreciate some of you trying it and reporting back your experience.
Basically it plays just like 8-ball with ONE BIG EXCEPTION: You only get one shot per turn; i.e. you and your opponent rotate shots. This means every shot has to have an element of offense and defense.
The opening break and establishing groups are the same as usual 8-ball. As best I can determine, so are all the other rules (unless you have suggestions; much appreciated).
I've played it with some friends and we kind of like it. But we're not as high a level players as you guys.
Please give it a try and tell me what you think...and any rule changes you think are needed.
