Results Of My Match With "Dave"

well, it was a night of ups and downs. we played our usual race to 7 four times. the scores were as follows:
DCP: 7 - 3 - 2 - 7
Dave: 3 - 7 - 7 - 5

then after that, since Dave wasnt going to work tomorrow, we played a couple of more races to 7, and, well, i didnt fare very well. lost 7-3 and 7-0, i believe. i was getting kinda tired.

anyway, i missed about 3-4 shots that Helen Keller could have made blindfolded. just took them for granted, took my eye off the ball. one shot i had to reach to get to the cue ball, with the 9 hanging in the jaws, and i mis-cued slightly, and the cue ball followed the 9-Ball into the pocket. Dave asked me if i did that on purpose, thats how ridiculous it was.

I dont think Dave played that great, i have seen him play at times where you would think he could beat just about anybody. but after tying him in sets after the first four times i was somewhat satisfied. i think i broke and ran a couple of racks, but i did screw up a few decent opportunities.

all in all, i guess the verdict was not bad, not great. i dont expect to beat a player the caliber of Dave at this point in time, so if i can win a few racks and a set every now and then, i guess i should be somewhat satisfied.

regards,
DCP

And that's the way of pool. Sometimes you are the hammer, sometimes you are the nail. Thanks for sharing!

Do you really think that a blindfold would make a difference in Helen Keller shooting?

Not really, but it's a spot she used to hustle with. DCP fell prey to it a few times.

So...Final Score - Dave: 36 DCP - 22

I think Celtic got his wish...still a pretty good ass stompin'.

(now go work on your break until you get it down pat. Or, buy a new break cue)

That looks like pretty strong shooting up against someone who won the BCA Open a few years back. He should have some insights on how he deals with bad breaks. To rise to the top in a field of thousands he would have to have a pretty solid attitude for approaching bad breaks.
