It was 97 I was 18 and at the US Open. I was geting every pro I could to sign stuff for me. I saw Steve walking in twords me in the conference center so I ask him if he will sign my program and my US open shirt. He signs my program. I hand him my shirt and he says "turn around kid" I say huh what for? Steve says" You know how many shirts I've signed I know what I'm doin here turn around" So I do he puts the shirt on my back and makes sure it's all neat grabs my shoulders and says " I gotta line ya up" he starts movin me back and forth shaking me the whole time saying " now ya gotta hold still kid"
By now every one out there is watching. He signs the shirt turns me around says " there ya go" He gave me that Miz grin and shook my hand I was trying not to laugh too hard. Well Sunday comes I had Vip seats down front, Efren is playing Earl. They had the dinner buffet in the playing room back then. I'm sitting in my seat when Steve walks in, looks around sees me and asks" whered the buffet go?" I tell him they just started putting thr food away. Steve looks kinda miffed. So I say go back there I'm sure ya can get a plate. Steve says " hey good idea" SO he goes through the door where the staff is taking the food to. About 3 minutes later Stave comes out with a nice size plate and walks by me and says" I knew you were a smart boy" 
I had the pleasure of meeting him a few times after that and he always remembered me from that first meeting. We miss ya Steve
