About 3 and 1/2 months ago I got beat in a APA league match by a lower handicap and it completely pushed me completely over the edge. Honestly, I was ready to just hang up pool. I went out the next night and bought a rediculously expensive set of golf clubs that I had NO IDEA how to use and now I'm a golfer...I took my break, didn't even watch pool on tv, and completely quit anything pool related. I've threatened for years that I was going to take a break from pool and clear my head and try to come back and ENJOY playing and not get so wrapped up in winning as much as appreciating the time that I am having while playing. I'm back from my 3 1/2 month break and have been practicing and it's like I never stopped...Stroke is better than it was, seeing the table better, and actually enjoying the game. It killed me not to go play but I have to tell you I think it was the best thing I've ever done to help my game. Honestly, enjoying the game is a win in itself for me. On top of that I taught myself to play golf and I always thought that golf was a game for rich snobs, but that game is a freakin' blast!
