My New Ebony Coker

This is my new Coker.

Maybe someone can help me with the different woods. The forearm is Ebony (very dark) and the butt is Ebony that shows the pattern in the wood.

I am sending it off to Joe Callaluca, he is doing three ivory inlays for me of a design I wanted in the forearm.

jeff, i'm pretty sure that is macassar ebony. the jet-black ebony is called gaboon. coker uses both kinds, but that look like macassar to me.

Nice looking inlay design..........It looks like he executed it perfectly in the sample. Be sure to post pics when its done. Also I have always been impressed with how cokers I have hit with have played.

cokers are a great cue, they hit well and are affordable. their designs are getting better as well. i can't wait to see jeff's when it is finished.

Why did he spin the inlay?? And when you sent it did you have a top and a bottom to it??

Not sure what you mean by spin the inlay.

He put 4 examples on there because we had talked about having 4 around the butt. He only filled in one of them. The other three have just been cut out. He wanted to show how four would look, how close they would be to each other.

I have since decided to go with three around the forearm. and to turn the design where one point is pointing straight up towards the ferrule.

What I meant was that your seems to be like a triangle and he turned it, so yours has a wide bottom and he seemed to spin it??? Just wonderin.

He inlaid it 90° counter clockwise, assuming you would normally look at the cue when it's vertical.

Yeah that's what I was trying to say... I guess, who knows maybe I'm a bit off and the inlay is right??

Right!! That's how I was expecting it to go, not that it matters, but it's just how I look at a cue.

We're talking angle of the dangle. Seriously I like it very original but yet tastefully done. Just a little extra chrome on what used to be a a plain cue.
