My new, fancy custom cue

Up until now I've always played with production Sneakies, but I finally broke down and ordered a custom, fancy cue.

Maple butt sleeve, maple handle, maple points and maple veneers. David at Schmelke Cues found just the right piece of maple and worked his magic! (And matched the joint diameter of my OB shafts perfectly, so I can use those too).

It's the first non-LD shaft I've ever used and it's taking a little getting used to. I like the feel and the deflection isn't huge (I'm not an extreme-English user), but enough that I've got to adjust for it.

Funny thing is that I chose it so it would NOT stand out...but everyone wants to see it, shoot with it and comment on it!

One heck of a lot of cue for $90.

I like it!
I made a cue about three years ago that could be your cues twin. I turned mine at 60 inches long and very light for snooker, it looks like your points are a little more even than mine.;)

I'm jealous. I had the exact same design in mind, but now it can't be "one of a kind". Seriously, it looks great, I'm sure it plays great too. I have a Schmelke break cue and love it.

Yours can still be one-of-a-kind, just lose the Implex at the joint. I wanted true wood-to-wood but I forgot to ask Davd about it; maybe he does it, maybe he doesn't.

They're so even that I can't even see them

Very nice. There really is beauty in simplicity. Congrats. A friend of mine always asks - So how does it hit? Then he says, "Pretty never made a ball." I think it applies perfectly in your situation.
