I have to share this. I've seen Talk about Jump Cues
I have been jumping for a couple of months. Been using a Custom Jump Break Cue made by Tom Reed our local cue maker. Purple Heart shaft and butt, and Samsara Tip. Did pretty darn good till the tip got chipped and I had to re shape it and work it down some. It was not the same, breaking or jumping. It was like it was to hard Still had a good 1/3 of a tip left. I think the Purple Heart shaft might be a little to stiff. Just replaced the Samara Tip with the same. What a diffrence.
At the same time I just got my new Lomax Jump Cue. The Red one with Black Joint Rings on another thread. So that evening, I'm playing with my new toy. I'm a Jumping fool. Try to show my buddy how to jump. Well he set up a ball on each spot and tries to jump the cue over one to make the other. A hard shot. He can't get over the ball. So off course I had to try. He set it up, I jump and I missed the ball by 1/2 inch. Set it back up, Jumped the ball, Bam Cue and Object ball hit the 2 corner pocket at the same time. It was Pretty My buddy said, "I'm Done" Packing up with his head shaking. We were walking away from the table and I said let try my Jump Break Stick with the New tip. My Buddy set the same shot up. Bam I did it again. First Jump with the replaced Samsara. Crazy Stuff. Breaking great again also. Using the Kamui Gator Grip to keep it scuffed works the best for me.
I was the luckiest SOB that Night.
The Lomax was with eeease. It is so light. I can jump over a ball 2 chalkes apart with no trouble. Just to darn Easy. Remember, I'm new to this stuff. The way I describe it is; " It Just Goes Bloop"
Now my Jump Break is Twice as heavy and Jumping that close is not working at all with me behind it. For experienced jumpers, no trouble. Now it can jump, but not as eeeasy for me. Remember Leather tip campared to a Phenalic.(Can't Spell)
If you are looking for a Custom Jump, go LOMAX. It just to easy.
