Al truly does Great work. Everything about this cue is just perfect. The forearm of the cue is birdseye maple. The 4 points are cocobolo with 5 veneers. The veneer colors of this cue are White, Red, Blue, Yellow, and black. The Blue and Yellow in this cue is gorgeous. Has a Black stack leather wrap. The butt sleve of this cue is Snakewood. The Snakewood in the butt sleve just sets this cue off IMO. In the butt sleve there are 4 ivory inlays which represent the pawnbrokers symbol. All the White (excluding the veneer) is Ivory in this cue.:thumbup:

I dig the pawn balls. The history behind the symbol is cool. A very powerful and influential family from Florence, Italy, the Medici's, where known for many things, lending money being one of them. Their family crest, which dates to the 14th century, has these balls on them, minus the "arms" that connect the balls. The pawn balls soon became a symbol of those that lend money to others with some sort of collateral. If you pay close attention, most any respectable pawnshop still sports the pawn balls somewhere in or on their shop.

I really dig them on a cue, considering a fair amount of cues pass through the hands of pawn shops.

Pawn Balls

My family owns a few Pawnshops and we thought the symbol would look nice on a cue. I believe We were right. :grin-square:

i didn't know he was still making cues. can you pm me his phone number. i used to own one of his cues and i wanted to ask him a question

Star City Cue

Trey,

Nice looking cue. I spoke to Al this past weekend and this would be a good time to hop on the waiting list. Although i have a cue in the making, i will have Al to do my next cue.

Take care
