The SWCC sounds like a hell of a good idea to me!

To give an example, something as little as veneers for rings. He was so unhappy with the quality of dyed sycamore, he now makes his own .040 thick veneers and with a precision thats unmatched by anyone. He is also making them thinner for future "experiments". I can't discuss how his points are made but the machinery borders on genius, which is why he can do them as efficiently as he does. Also with his "hardwood" veneering system, precision is a must, alignment, points not cracking when glued, all things to be considered, were a factor. He just made some slotted ivory diamonds, this doesn't sound like a big deal, but they are size for size with the mother of pearl that cuemakers buy from suppliers like atlas. So he can do a pearl or ivory slotted diamond inlay. But the uniqueness is how he created the slots and how precise each diamond is. His master of the machinery trades really can be appreciated when you get a close look at what he does, and start to realize the why.
If how good a cuemaker can play pool is a concern, it's not here. Skip made a little "comeback" last year and after 10 years of not even being at a table was running 60's and 80's in less than 8 weeks. He also won a few local 9 ball tourneys. I know alot of cuemakers, and he is one of the most well rounded cuemakers around.
