I think the next young american pool champion is going to be Mitch "The Kid" Ellerman of Phoenix, Arizona. He just turned 21. If you want to read a little bit about him and what he has done lately check out This

He is the current 9 ball and 10 ball Arizona State Barbox Champion.
He is the current Arizona State Big Table 8 ball and 10 ball Champion and took 2nd in the Arizona State 9 ball Championship. The first time any player has ever made the finals of all three big table championships.

His most recent win was the Barbox 10 ball Championship over Scott Frost. He is also leading the points on the Arizona All Around Tour.

I second that, Mitch is playing very good right now. Not to mention he seems to have a good head on his shoulders!

He is a super nice kid. His whole family is nice - well the 3 that I have met anyways.

Four votes for Mitch!

He is playing well and improving all of the time. At present he just needs seasoning which he is getting on a daily basis as he plays tournaments and players for the $$, his desire to improve and learn are driving him in a positive direction. He has good healthy habits, a likeable young man, a great attitude and seems to be surrounded by many positive factors. All these things will help him reach his goal of someday soon becoming a great player and soon to be on the pro tour if he so chooses.

Good luck to Mitch!

I just heard that Mitch Ellerman defeated Scott Frost in the finals of the AZ All-Around yesterday at Kolby's. Big table 9-ball. He apparently snapped the money ball at hill-hill for the match.

True story. When it was 12-11 in favor of Scott, he made a very unusual error and missed the 7 ball, so all Mitch had to do was make the 7 and the 9 to tie it up. Then he broke and made the nine.
