This combines reality shows and what has worked on the WPT. You get a group of good players to play an extended round robin with multiple games, 8 ball, 9 ball, one pocket, banks, whatever, pick a few different ones. Maybe even make them put up the $ like on WPT. Have a lot of behind the scenes stuff and interviews. Have some knowledgeable commentators EXPLAIN the games and important shots and runs. You do it on a taped basis like the WPT. The WPT doesn't show a bunch of folding or nothing hands, so hours of action are eliminated. So let's say you get a long run in 14:1, you could set it up so it is dramatic and intersting. Maybe you wouldn't want 14:1 in the mix, but I think people would love to watch a player they like (from the interviews and stuff) put a 100 ball run together and keep somebody in the chair. Or the reverse, the guy they like blows a safe and the obnoxious guy they hate runs out. That would be drama. Winner breaks 9 ball is fine. Wouldn't it be great if a match that got some dramatic build up resulted in a perfect 11-0 match or something. You'd have segments explaing the different games and the skill involved. Have the players explain some nuances. It would be a cross of those ESPN shows like the Season and the WPT. OK, there's my idea. Now it won't happen I know.
