Very nice!! Thanks for sharing. I believe I would want to stain the rack, but not immediately sure what - dark rosewood, cherry...? Something that would complement the table.

Like the Stones I'd "paint it black":) Not really paint but maybe some ebony stain. It turns the wood blackish but you can still see all the wood grain. It would be a nice contrast with the natural color of the walls and it would go nicely with the table. Sweet room by the way!

Great set up.....

How does the ''Kim Steel '' play in comparrison to a GC or Diamond,,,

I'de keep the rack ''as is'',,,,,It'll only be natural once,,,

Enjoy,,,,,Alan,

Alan,

In terms of playability; the Kim Steel plays a lot better.
Balls just seems to keep on rolling, cushions are more lively (artemis top cushions...; slate is 30 mm.

For me the Kim Steel is for sure the much better table but it seems to me all the members to this forum only loves a Daimond or a Goldcrown...

The Kim Steel also have a magnificant look, I really like the "big body".

My former table, the GC III, had the ball return system but now I'm having drop pockets, I really don't miss the ball return system.

I have a mate who has an old version of a Diamond. I think the table must be 25 years old.
Played in his house last week for about 5 hours.
My mate thinks his table plays very good but compared to my K-Steel, it really doesn't!
I'm pretty sure the cushions are as good as dead, no more reponse what so ever. The cloth Simonis 760) also have no more speed left.
I really had to pound every ball in the pockets.

I'm sure my mate will have some big problems to adjust to my table since he have to hit the balls very hard on his Diamond.
I still was able to beat hem though

All; thanks for the nice response.

Thanks for all the great info......

I never played on a Kim Steel or for that matter,,never seen one in person,,,,but I've never heard a bad word about them.......

I also like the looks of them better than a GC or Diamond......

Enjoy my friend,,, Alan,,,,

Very nice setup... you & your buddies should have fun playing Pool there...

Great looking pool room you have there, I am envious! After my table plays perfect (hopefully) with new Simonis, Artemis, and a new set of Centennials its time to work on the basement decor, kinda looks like a Turkish prison right now. It is in the basement and I am trying figure out what to do with the floor, its concrete, it has not gotten wet in 8 years but there is always the possibilty, any ideas from anyone?

You could try some stained concrete, however you might need a perimeter of carpet runners, carpet tiles or remnants for the Pool Ball to land on & not get scratched or chipped up.

Good Luck
