I was at fast eddies practicing. I am using the ORIGINAL HAL HOULE SYSTEM. There Left edge, left quarter, center.right quarter, and right edge. Now according what Hal Houle taught me and my friends is There is an Edges to use for cut shot and cut thin thin shot the I aim edge then go 1/8 over off the object ball. Now to me it be A(Left Edge),B(left quarter)C(center)D(right quarter) and E(right edge)...that how Hal taught me. There is additional to A,B, and C.......that is EDGES. I don't call the shots in the videu but I just know by angles so here is the list call shots

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U5M0h03OlsA click on that

1.1 ball right quarter
2.2 ball left edge and 1/8 over.
3.3 ball left edge combo for the 9 ball
4.3 ball right quarter
5.4 ball center to center
6.6 ball right quarter
7.7 ball left quarter
8.8 ball left quarter
9.9 ball left edge.

wow 57 views and no comments......guess no one know the REAL HAL HOULE SYSTEM.

Thing is that the viewer doesn't see anything other than you getting down and shooting. So the video itself doesn't help anyone to learn anything. As for Hal's systems he taught many systems to many people.

If you are using this system and it works for you, why are you looking for another?

Also did he teach you to use the side of your ferrule or is that something you added?

In this post of yours it seems you aren't really using the Original Hal Houle System, maybe it is more your interpretation of it.

Nothing wrong with that really.

John and Tony, Yes I am getting down and shooting, but imagine what I went through as beginner...I had to learn how to set myself into the shots. I already know by angles choosing the quarters, edges and center. It now automatic to me. I am going center of the cue ball as I am seeing it go either quarters, edges or center. I am not guessing or thinking oh it more here or there....no I am going off how Hal taught me.......he told me it going to take a while to get the "choosing quarters, edges and center cause it base on how angles is" which he was right I had to learn from scratch. before I learned this....I was clueless and not setting my body right into the shot and I was doing the contact to contact point and Hal told me you are guessing and contact to contact is invisible. RandyG, yes Hal is a great guy and what he taught me....it made my pressure off and over thinking about contact point to contact point. now just choosing base on angles....He told me there are 3 spots to aim at but sometime gotta use edges for cut shot( not thin cut but if I got more of an angle to cut cut more....he says aim at the edge now go overlap 1/8) I did exactly how he show me and I was amaze on how he told me.....it automatic...like he just click on me. he a great guy Randy and I am great to know and met him.

I use the side of shaft/ferrule on more angle shot like 35-45 and more degree angles since the cue ball not needed to be use more( my way of saying not using the whole ball, only need an edge of the cue ball to hit at it) I aim some shots that only need to be hit center lining up to the A,B or C.

Sometime If I got a more more cut then that to me, I ask myself if I need to cut over more than a 30 degrees angle then less of the cue ball need to be use. So okay I gotta use the edge of the shaft/ferrule to aim at either A,,B.C or Edges. To me the stick is cutting the cue ball down to be use to hit the contact A,B,C or Edges. If I am slightly straight but little angle then I just use the center of my shaft to line up to those A,B,C....no edges since it not much of a cut angle shot.

I was practicing 30 degree cut and notice that gotta use the center of my shaft/ferrule to the edge of the Object ball. So I decided to move over to where it 35 to more degrees, I hit center to the edge....it miss, so I told myself well since I am cutting more than 30 degrees and more why not use the edge of the shaft/ferrule lining up to the edge of the ball as I am center cue ball and it went in.

I know that this is way I aim and it worked for me for last 10 yrs since I've met Hal Houle but I had to come on with different solution for myself to work so using edge of the shaft/ferrule was a little something I added for myself but still using the Hal Houle System to help making balls.

I've helped some people and like 2 people gotten it so far. their result change more and they able to tell me wow Hal Houle system and your little way of adding edge of the shaft/ferrule really help making ball it take out the guess/ghost ball method, that felt good and no charges from me showing them how.

If I was a professional turn retire to help people, I would charge cheap like 10 dollars an hour, not asking for 150-300 dollars for 2 hours or more cause that to me, not showing love for the game I have in pool. I wanna help people just to feel I want them to get somewhere and hopefully my names get out.

I don't wanna be a greedy bastard and charges a lot then they walk out being cleanser, I would take the time to show it and learn it. Hal was a great guy to really show me his knowledge on this system he showed me.

Jpool1985,

Do you have a link for this system explanation?

Stan not wrong. He is right that A,B, and C. A(left quarter)B(Center) and C(Right quarter). When I heard his dvd and mentioning Hal Houle I am thinking oh cool same guy who taught me his system. Well when I heard only those 3 spots, I was like wait a minute what about Edges on the Object ball? I am not here to argue or deny anything, I do think maybe Hal Houle got many different aiming system and at the time he saw me and met me, he automatically knew which part of aiming system is for me to understand and know base on my playing style. I mean Stan an instructor and I bet he can tell by just looking at someone playing and knew right away what their problem is and all. I think that what Hal did for me.
Pro1/CTE is working for Stan that great and maybe I can't get it down cause it a different style of aiming but both base on Hal Houle at a different level of aiming or style I would says.

I've never read an articles or reading of any kind on aiming. 10 yrs ago I was clueless and thought okay just look at Object ball and cue ball. I tell ya I was horrible making balls. I couldn't make 2 or 3 balls in the row until I met Hal Houle. After done learning off from him, I decided to look him up and other aiming systems. Again I was lucky to have met him and ending up in the right pool hall and the right time to visit my friend out in California.
