My Scruggs

Just a few weeks ago got my Scruggs cue (thanks, Sean!) and it's great. Just an elegant design type which has always pleased my eye. The pics are quite large (about 500k each), but here's a site where you can browse through them:

The cue has 4 ebony points on birdseye maple. The points have 5 veneers (at first looks like 4), from inside: maple, dyed (?) maple, mahongany, mahongany and ebony. That's right, there are double mahongany veneers next to each other, can be seen best on perhaps pic TS_12.jpg. The cue has a nice leather wrap and ebony butt sleeve and a white buttcap... the material has abandoned my head... damn... the white stuff used in ferrules with the slight "grid" visible. (Someone help me out here ! :) ). Anyway, there are also double silver rings at A,B,C,D and E. Only thing that bothers me are the silver rings, I would have preferred wooden rings... But, I think I'll manage through this rough time concerning the ring work :p The cue came with 2 shafts with ivory ferrules on both.

Playability is something to be tried out. The cue hits like a freight train, quite stiff but still lively. Very nice cue !

Beauty. I love the bocote and turquoise together. The cue I am having built has bocote points with turquoise and ebony veneers. I love the look.

Thanks guys. I like the veneer colors at lot, I don't like those bright veneer color like orange or red, they make the cue look... umm, christmastreeish :)

If you like stiff-hitting cues, I warmly recommend Tim Scruggs' work.

Great looking cue! A custom Scruggs is next on my list!

I just want to say...wow what a beauty you have there man. I personally like silver ringwork, hence my Schon. Definately pretty veneers. I am impressed.

that cue doesn't look common with those uncommon veneer combo. It highlighted the ebony points particularly well. It sure doesn't look bright, but it isn't somber-looking either. What a good looking cue have! :o
