It's a Wes Hunter. My cue is on the cover of the January '96 American Cueist. I have a couple of Wes' cues and like them alot.

The table is made by Presidential Billiards, Monarch Model. It's hand carved African teak on all of the furniture. Simonis 860 cloth. It's only an 8', all I had room for. The legs look small in the picture, but they're not, they weigh about 35 lbs a piece. This is my second table and I absolutely love it.

Let me know if you need more information on it.

my playing cue looks just like yours without the points. same rings. mine has a spalted maple band with an extra ring at the bottom. his cues are very underrated. take care.

Miah,

I don't think his cues are underated, just not real popular. Everyone I've talked to that has one of Wes' cues would never part with it. The hit is amazing.

Let me know when you want to sell your Wes (yeah right ;) ) . Post a pic of your cue, I'd be interested in seeing it...

If you e-mail it to me, I'll post it. When posting pics from the net, I use www.imagestation.com and on the address remove the .org.jpg after the first jpg.

Presidential Billiard's make some very unique tables. We have about 5 or 6 in stock at our store. The African Teak is what makes the table. You are right Teak is very heavy wood. We have a scalloped 2pc. cue rack that matches your table(aprons/rails). Just one section is about 8-10lbs. Where did you get it?

Jim,

I am very impressed with the table and your cue selection as well. I would be interested in knowing more about the Presidential line as I had never heard of them and your experience with AJ Gill as I am in the market for a table and the dealers here don't seem worthy of my business unfortunately. Any dislikes about the construction? Delivery and setup go off without a hitch? I am new to this forum and hope to meet some serious players around this area as well. How's the playability I too am going with the #860 Simonis I will hopefully get a 9 FT table if room allows. How's the 8 FT play ? Feel free to PM me or reply to my post whichever works best for you and thanks for your time.

MM,

Thanks for the compliments. I love the table, it plays great! AJ Gill delivered the table to the house and set it up for me, everything went fine. The did a great job on the cloth. Just make sure you check the rail bolts, they forgot to tighten one on mine. The Presidential Table, I think rivals any table out there. It's a one inch slate with one inch wood backer. Everything on the table is solid wood, and the hand carved african teak is gorgeous. Good luck on your purchase and if you're near Tipton, OK, feel free to come by and play.

Jim

BTW, Welcome to the forum!!!!!

Jim,

Thanks for the prompt response I was out looking at tables most of the day. Did you get the #860 on your table? Now I guess the only decision is to get an 8ft in a dedicated room or a 9 foot in the living/common area. Either way the wife has signed off on it. Do you feel you lost any playability when you went to an 8ft table? This will be our first table so I apologize if these questions are mundane. I wasn't too impressed with the high pressure pitch the olhausen and brunswick dealer were doing today. I am looking at the presidential models; Biltmore, Richmond, Addison, and Williamsburg (wifes favorite) however I am not too sure I like the idea of curved rails?!?! I love that they are solid wood throughout and hand carved as well to include the cabinet. They seem to be well built as far as I can tell. I am hoping to get back into playing regular again after about a 10 year lay-off and I am not sure practicing on a 9 ft will yield as much enjoyment as an 8ft. How long have you had the table ? had it recovered yet? They use solid wood to mount to the slate and rails I hope so recovering several times won't be an issue down the road.

I am not sure where Tipton is? I just moved here from AZ (DM) and now am in OKC (Tinker) I just noticed the stripes in your sig; nice touch. Thanks again.

MM,

I'm stationed at Altus AFB, about 2 hours from Tinker. I do have 860 on my table and it's all I'll ever have on it. I didn't have room for a 9' table, so I was limited. I don't mind playing on an 8' table. I like the curved rails on my table, I think they add a little artistic element to the table. BTW, if you get the table from AJ Gill's make sure you haggle over the price, he will come down. Also, if you don't need all the crap that comes with the table, he'll trade it on the cloth upgrade. I'm not sure what balls he includes, but go out invest in burnswick gold crown or super pro aramith balls.
