this past week i had the occasion to play on 4 types of tables with varying degrees of surrounding environment.
sunday a week ago i played in a pool hall on valleys that are taken care of pretty well. fairly clean balls that probably could be cleaned a little bit more often. the environment is fairly quiet
tuesday i played on valleys in a bar. nuff said about tables and balls and environment.
this weekend i played a tournament on 7' diamonds in a pool hall ...fairly clean balls. red label tables but are still diamonds that play a whole lot different than valleys. juke box was played some but not overly loud...not too me any way since i am hard of hearing.
people packed in there like sardines .
this sunday i played on 9' gold crowns in a pool hall . same one as the previous sunday.
all of these were league related. i play on the valleys pretty regularly. the gold crowns are played on every 4-5 weeks. the diamonds are once a year.
sitting here reflecting over my record during the past week i realized my level of play varied very little on the various tables and environments. i also realized i adapt pretty easily no matter the situation.
a lot of people come on this forum and say they hate valleys... they hate 7 footers period, no matter what make. .they hate red label diamonds ...cant say too many hate gold crowns.
they hate music being played while playing ...they hate people walking around while they are shooting...people should be still and quiet as a mouse when they are not shooting.
reflecting on how much people complain about different tables and environments i realized i oughta been a fillipino . :grin-square:
i dont have to have a diamond available
i dont have to have a 9' table
i dont have to have brand new cloth on the table every time i play
i dont have to have squeaky clean balls
i dont have to have every one around me be a mannequin while i am playing
all i need is a table...some balls and an opponent .:grin-square:
