Well, after watching the Obama thread grow and spread like a virus and re-reading some of my own posts, I feel ashamed and embarassed. Not for anything I said, but for allowing myself to fall into the trap and participate in a political thread. Obviously, political arguments bring out the worst in people thus the reason I try to steer clear of them. This forum is supposed to be about pool. In the future, I will refrain from sharing my political or religeous views and stick to pool. I think we can all agree to disagree and just drop it. After all, we are here because we share a love and passion for the same game. It is my hope that the others who contributed negatively will also help to stop the madness. There is so much about AZB that is good and constructive. It is a real shame for it to be tarnished by something like this.

I know where you are coming from.....but NPR is there for a reason. Some stuff is interesting to read and some isn't. I go to the pool hall with a good friend of mine that is very liberal in his political views, I consider myself a conservative, and we get along just fine. He is actually one of the only people that I shoot with that actually understands politics and that can hold an intellegent conversation. We have our differences, but at the end of the day we both love the game. It's good to have friends like this.

Not trying to sound like mister know it all but I never even opened that thread.I know how peeps like to gripe about the U.S. pres.
I do however participate in the open discussion thread.The beauty of that is there is nothing mentioned in the title to cause distress.
Never been to the NPR section.I do like to discuss religion (or lack thereof) and even politics at times.I will not discuss religion with pool players though because I may have to play one of you sometime and there could be another Mark Chapman out there.

Yes, I do try to keep my opinion to myself, but in this case a nerve was struck and I gave in. The thread was initially started just to point out something interesting to AZB and the pool world in general. Once it turned political, I should have ignored it, but I didn't. I see that the thread is still active and growing today like an infectious disease. No longer is it about pool. It is indeed sad to see and I wish I had never participated.
