Wenesday night I subbed for my brother's team. They were in last place after 10 weeks of play. The other sub had not paid his members dues, and it was the 11th week, so speicial permission had to be gotten from LO and the other team for him to shoot, the other team told the LO it was okay, and he paid his member's dues along with weekly fee. This is a VNEA certified league.
We were visitors that night, and in the last round, I side broke made balls, and had a great layout to run out. I got a little zealous on the last shot in the side and pulled the cue ball back too far, out of my window.
I didn't know what to do. It was too far to reach for me for a jump shot
since I am only 5'7", so I did the only thing I felt I could do. I leaned in from the side of the table, looking sideways down on the shot, with my jump cue in a dart position. The only problem being is I don't jump dart style, only stroke style. I said the heck with it, stroked it a few times straining to maintain the position I was in, and hit it. I hit it perfect, not only making the 2 ball, but coming out from the rail just enough for a shot on the 8 in the corner. I got an ERO (earned runout), and my team ended up getting all 5 points from the 3rd place team.
So that was my first Dart Jump shot!!! You know, I think I will practice it some now ....
