Congratulations to your new VIATTORRE! I too waited for about 15months even though mine's a solid butt w/ simple rings as its main design... as Jackson said, extra care is needed for solid butts since it's harder to keep it straight as you trim the wood down
It seems you have a 1/2in ferrule too.You'll be surprised how powerful that short ferrule is
It took me about a month to control my Via (kinda long `coz I only play 1-2x a week). The short ferrule will give you lots of ball reaction and, of course, feel. You might feel a little uncomfortable with the aim if you got used to looking at the long ferrule, but you'll surely overcome it after a game or two
