Well what a weekend!
I had an exciting and fun weekend filled with wire to wire pool playing. It started thursday when I left Kingsville for Waco to spend the nite with Big Truck. I got in at 8:45, got to meet Mrs. Big Truck, Big Truck Jr., and 2 seconds later we were off to Click's for the weekly nineball tournament. I finished 5/6 and played pretty "sporty" as trigger would say. It felt good to play well since I had hadn't done so in a month. Friday was spent practiing on Big Truck's diamond 9 footer:thumbup: and then it was off to Big D for an evening with the ladies of the OB1 cues tour as well as other Azr's which included samm diep and her friend Carter, akatrigger(Melinda), RBC aka Mr. OB1 Royce Bunnel, samiel aka Viet My and his lovely wife, the firecracker herself Tara McCracken and Ray for a dinner at Ton's. Then it was off to Rusty's in Arlington for the King/Queen of AzB challenge match which ended in a draw. We didn't get back to the hotel until almost 2 am!
Saturday was the US Open qualifier tourney at Click's in North Dallas. I got to hang out with fellow Azr's BigDoc Reyes, 9ball_JJ aka Juan Parra, bullshooter69(the other akatrigger contest winner aka Doug Winett), and Papa Red(Charlie) among others and had a blast. Even though I didn't finish in the money, I played well and gained some valuable experience and more of a desire to get to the next level. After Ray and I got knocked out it was back to Rusty's for the rubber match of the AzB King/Queen challenge which the Firecracker was "en fuego!" making three rail banks like it was nothing! Then it was off to Campo Verde for some chips and queso with some more azr's which was a fabolous way to end a great weekend of pool! Needless to say we didn't get back to Waco until 11:30 and I spent another nite at Ray's house with more practice on the diamond to close out the evening. Needless to say I lost every set that we played on that table. I hope to fix that one of these days! Sunday was spent driving back home and was by far one of the best weekends I have ever had! Thanks Ray for everything and hope to see you next weekend in Waco.:thumbup2: :thud:
