Wouldn't it be great if someone could organize a ten-ball event pitting the top 5 or 10 American players against their Pinoy counterparts, for big money?

I would pay for that!

Just fantasizing whilst languishing in my cubicle-prison...wage-slave that I am.
 
That would be great.
Get the session started with one more climatic showdown between Strickland and Reyes. Anyone could market that.
Than turn it over to the young guns.
Almost seems like something that mainstream media might pick-up on. (Well, we can dream can't we?)
 
The thing I like about this idea is it would be another event like the Masconi cup where the players actually get fired up and pump their fists and high five and get the crowd fired up and all that.

There is an energy in these team events that makes it funner to watch than when a solo guy wins and walks over to shake his opponent's hand and back to his chair just exactly the same way he walks to check his mail and back.

World Team Billiards and Mosconi Cup. Of course those were/are for 9-ball.

Even better. I think if the US are considered underdogs in this type of contest it would draw an even bigger audience. Imagine being considered underdogs with the likes of SVB, Earl, Corey. Schmidt, Gabe (and more top pros I forgot to mention). That would be something!

Since I am wishing, they should play sessions in each other's countries, so both teams have home field advantage, sort of like the NBA playoffs. then the finals could be played in Hawaii.
 
I don't think we have enough fire power in the US to take on 10 Pinos. PLs don't kill me. They just shoot to damn straight.
 
Instead of 10 how about just 4. 3 guys and minimum 1 girl on each team. 16 matches so everyone will play everyone. race to 2 in each match up. First to 9 win.

Maybe not just USA and Philippines. Maybe include Europe and Taiwan as well. I played in a format like this in our league tourney. Short race is very intense. It narrows down the Gap between 2 players. And when the finish line is nearing gets even more exciting.
