Mystery Custom Cue. Please help identify if possible!

It's a long story but I received this cue 10+ years ago from an old friend who was moving. He knew nothing about the cue and inherited it in an estate. There seem to be no signatures or markings. Red/blue veneers, 1 shaft, white may or may not be ivory. Cue could have even possibly been made 15-20 years ago?
HELP PLEASE!!!

Sure looks like a McDermott from the 80's to me. Is there any marking on the butt?

No I checked the whole cue I couldn't find a single marking it does sort of look like an old McDermott I suppose! !
