I used to play a lot at Clicks on Alpha road in Dallas, circa 1990. It's no longer there but I was curious if there are any players here that used to hang there.

I live in that area and played there many times. That place is now Hawley's and was a Mickey Finn's back in the old days.

I played league at the Speed's across the street from Hawley's last night.

I used to play tournaments at the Click's also ca 1990.

Any of you know John McChesney? I saw on the net that he died! He was an excellent player.

I was the pony tailed guy who liked straight pool and mainly played up front on the Gold Crowns during the day.

I knew John well back in the day. I bought and traded a ton of cues with him over the years and even went with him to California once when he was running a tournament out there.

I had quit playing for a while and was really sad to hear that he had died.

John was definitely one of the good guys.

When I worked for Stanley Steemer there in Dallas I lived in Coppell and there was a real nice pool hall right near the mall north of Coppell near the Highway. ::lowers head:: sorry I couldn't get you a more accurate discription of location.

Yeah, he and I used to play straight pool together. I found out that he died when I happened upon texasexpress. Made me sad...
Do you know what killed him?

Scot: The only people I know by name that I remember are Lee Keenan and a nice guy named, Jeff who drove a grey Towncar. Oh, and Manny. Manny was kinda overweight and had a peculiar pool style where he would keep opening and closing his eyes as he did some rapid fire warm up strokes. lol...

This might be Jeff Wilson you are thinking of. I went to college with Jeff at North Texas and he is a really nice guy.

Played left-handed and loved one-pocket.

I can't remember if he was right or left handed. I do remember that he drove a gray Towncar though and was usually there early in the day.

I am almost positive that I heard not too long ago that he died of cancer.[/QUOTE said:
I was assuming that he died of lung cancer because he was a big smoker. On top of that, he lived at the pool hall. Can't be too good for ya....
