I read something about Manolo playing a different "style" of 14.1 to win. Anyone have any details about how he played? Harder breaks? Less cue ball control? Different kind of break shots?

Just a guess ..

But i would say ball patterns just off hand. The person
had a sense of 'amazement' in his comments, and if
you saw someone shooting totally different patterns
from the way you would, and doing it well, wouldn't
you be amazed?

I assume you guys mean the quotes from Barouty? I would just say that the article appeared to be written by someone who did not speak english, lol, so we're not really sure what Barouty actually said. He is very rarely a serious person anyway, so much of what was quoted may have been said in jest.

That aside, Danny spoke very highly of Marlon's game to me, and for him to do that, he must have been impressed. Danny plays among the best patterns on earth, and only truly respects 14.1 players that play the game "right". His personal aside to me, of being impressed with Manalo, is a stamp of approval he reserves for few players.

I agree that the grammar was quite a bit off and figured it was someone from Manolo's country and maybe a bit of puffery. I was wondering if anyone saw him play and if they noticed anything outrageously revolutionary yet effective in his style of play. Maybe Barouty was a little tongue in cheek and Manolo blasted them hard at all opportunities.
