In light of the whole IPT implosion, I guess it doesn't matter so much, but I have to say that IMO the broadcasts are getting better. KT doesn't seem to talk as much, which makes it more bearable without the mute button, Sigel's not so full of himself anymore, and that Matt dude is starting to figure pool out.
In fact, I'm kind of liking MS's announcing, and I used to really dislike it. A lot of people who I've spoken to say that he wasn't always an arrogant jerk, cocky yes, but not to the point where you can't stand it. It looks like they let him drop his "I'm the greatest" act, and he seems like a pretty decent guy now.
And the third guy Matt seems to be developing a genuine interest in pool, which is really kind of encouraging for the idea that "ordinary sports fans" can get into pool. Of course, he might just be feigning interest (he does after all work for KT), but it looks like he's actually getting into the game.
Of course it appears to be all for nothing. The whole situation is so s****y. I've always been conflicted, of course wanting the IPT to succeed, the excitement and the tournaments and the money were all great, but I was always uneasy about having a credit-card-stealing, fake-cancer-cure-peddling infomercial king at the helm. Now with the whole non-payment and lying, I guess the writing's on the wall, and maybe it's better in the long run for pool to not be linked to KT. Who knows. Let's just hope the players get paid...
Still, for what it's worth, I think the TV coverage is getting better.
