Any thoughts on what this is? The butt cap doesn't look to be original.

Looks like a Rich or an early Palmer to me. Both used a lot of mother of pearl dots and Rich used broad stainless rings at the top and bottom of the wrap.
 
I don't think its a Palmer because of the joint rings. They are not phenolic and are a little too thick. Also, the Model K has the ringwork at "c" joint and this one appears to be an intact full splice.

The reason I ask is the customer wants some modifications and I don't want to cut up a collectable cue. That goes against my "do no harm" policy. I know it has value but how much?
