I had a ist round bye. 2nd round its a 5-6 race. I win 5-1. dpnt let the lop sided score fool you. I shot good but not THAT GOOD !!.

I thought my opponent shot rather poorly considering his handicap is 12 points higher than mine. he missed some rather easy shots.

my next match is 1:30 sat. I hope I shoot as good as I did today. its my 1st tournament at the national level and I am trying to prevent jitters by just shooting like I always do every league night.

I want to give sterling a big thumbs up for my wave case.

I was headed to tunica yesterday and got caught in the rain on my bike. I was on the interstate and I went 10 miles before I found a bridge to get under. waited 1/2 hour for it to subside and continued on.i hit rain again the last 4 miles before I made it to the convention center. i was pretty soaked but my cues were bone dry.

I hope I have not bit off more than I can chew today. my captain talked me into playing the 1st match in our apa 9 ball doubles at 11 am and I reluctantly agreed. then I got to haul ass to tunica for my 1:30 match in tunica.

I hope the doubles match goes less than an hour. it takes about an hour to get to tunica. that gives me about a 1/2 hour window. no rain in the forecast for today though :)

I have got to tell you this is the best run and most organized tournament I have ever played in. every thing with smooth as silk until the 5th round but let me start with how my morning started out 1st.

I played at 11 am in my apa 9 ball doubles cities. I was shooting terrible and we lost our 1st match. a napa teammate met me there after my match with his brother and a friend of ours who works the counter at high pockets and we all jumped on our bikes and headed to tunica. my teammate and I both played at 1:30 and we got there with a 1/2 to spare.

its the 3rd round and I am still playing like shit.i was playing so bad that if the pockets were as big as buckets I woulda still missed half my shots. well needless to say I went to the 4th round on the losers side. I lost 5-0 in a 5-6 race. I went outside for a smoke and had a long talk with my self.

4th round starts right on time and I am shooting like am supposed to for my level and I win 5-2 in a 5-6 race.

5th round is right on time and I found myself in a dog fight in another 5-6 race. I don't think I am exaggerating one bit when I say we must have made 50 defensive shots a piece. our match went 2 1/2 hours with me winning 5-4. a guy who I noticed that had come and sat down watching my match for the last half hour got up and said he was my next opponent and he was ready any time I was .

I told him I know we are an hour behind schedule but I just got out of a grueling match and wanted a 15 minute break. he said he had no problem but I should get the ok from the td. I went up to the desk and told them the same thing and they said no problem.

well here I am in the 6th round in another dog fight with both of us playing just about as much defense as offense. I was playing pretty good until I got to thinking if I win I still have 2 more to go tonight and be back at 9 am sunday for the final bracket which I knew would be 6 matches almost back to back to reach the finals.

my feet were killing me " poor blood circulation " , my back was hurting because I changed my stance a week ago. I get down on the cue more because it greatly helped my accuracy but my body has not gotten used to it yet.

well I wound up losing but this 60 year old man showed he could hang with those young guns until his body gives out.

my napa lo who also happens to be my co captain on an apa team I captain watched my last match. he said he was impressed with my level of play and could tell I was give out. I told him I could not wait till next year got here .:grin-square:

I forgot to mention that this was my 1st time ever at a national tournament and I loved it. :)

thank you for shareing...sounds like it was a good time, other then the shower between
tournaments.
My biggest problem, or I should say hurdle is the mentle grind..the what if factor..I diffently understand playing through the pain..my C4-C7 is a little messed up an my
lower back as well..so I sweat it out..
better luck next time.
