Anyone on here play NAPA? Going to the 2019 Rocky Mountain Cup team 8 ball championship at the end of June?
I played Napa for 2 years and loved it. would still be playing if it was available in my area. I played at the nationals in nashville and tunica and had absolutely no issues with how it was ran or sandbagging .
I have also played...bcapl...tap....usapl and apa. Napa laggers choice is by far my favorite league.
I enjoy napa on a local level, don't really have any interest in playing their national tournaments.
This will be a first for me. I played APA and BCA leagues back in the 90’s, then just casual bar pool for 15 years, and now I’m playing a lot more competitive pool. My league operator asked if I’d play with him in this team tournament in Denver, and I figured... why not?!
I started this thread to see if anyone could give me an idea what to expect.
Having not played Napa for several years I have no idea what you should expect. I do know it was ran very well at both nationals I played in. I just played in the singles both times.
TeeA brought up his experience at the Atlanta nationals in which there was a thread on here where others stated what he stated above. The following year it was held in michigan in which a friend of mine went and played in and he said his experience was pretty much positive other than he did not finish in the money lol.
My advice is just go have fun shooting pool and play your best . I am sure you will encounter strong players for their handicap like I encountered but I never thought they were sandbaggers and I also encountered players who i thought were over handicapped. You really cant tell based on one match with them in my opinion .
