N'awlins Home of 3Cushion ?

This article, which appeared in Billiards Magazine in Nov. 1928, suggests that the 3 Cushion game originated in New Orleans. This probably would have been some time in the 1870s or 80s, perhaps even a bit earlier.

Do you suppose, given it's colorful yet vague background, that 3Cushion should be categorized as an 'American' game, or a 'French' game?

Technically speaking New Orleans is America, French flavored or not...

Sounds to me it came from St. Louis and these boys went down to Nawlins to hustle a little cash.

McCreedy is normally credited with inventing the game. Can't be proven of course.
