I have a great 9-ball tourney in Kernersville NC with the payout usually being a pot of over $9000. We normally have 50+ players. The problem is it is mostly guys from NC and SC. What can I do to get more out of state players?

Sounds like a nice payout... just advertise more.... in Atlanta and Florida. You should have included the date of the tourney in your post....

Also: Cater to the players a little... get some vendors to come in... make a deal with some nearby restaurants and hotels for player discounts.

I do get discounts for my players at the local hotels. $42 night. My tourney is listed on the tournaments forum. 9-Ball Maddness March 10-12. I also have a cue man on site. Thanks for the suggestions!

hey mrsboss........is this the one at timeout? I rode thru the last time yall had a tourney, such a crowd i didnt stop (plus i had my gf with me and i knew shed be bored). Friend of mine the other day said a big tourney was in kernersville soon, figured it must be yours. Im in martinsville. Id love to come and play in that one but tax season has me in its grip.....if only it was after april 15th:(

Hey Scotty

Yeah it's Time Out. Wish you could come. Maybe you can catch our tourney in June. People say we have the best barbox tourney in the southeast. Call me with your address and I will add you to our mailing list.

thanks, DeAnna

I was hoping to get more suggestions from all of you pool players! What do you want when you go to a big pool tourney?

i wonder if its the barbox aspect that keeps them away. Honestly i didnt know it was a barbox tourney......id prob still shoot in it since its close and pretty good purse but i normally only shoot on 4 1/2 by 9's

How far r u from charlotte Nc

Time Out is about 45 min. from charlotte. I was just down there last weekend for a big tourney, it does not take too long if you miss the evening traffic.

barboxes uggg....

Id love to play in the tourney, b/c i believe at my stage in the game, tourny play is what i need to be doing. BUT, i refuse to play on a barbox....maybe im being stubburn, or even hurting my game, but if its not a 9ft, then i dont even wanna watch.... I think it takes practice on a barbox to be good on a barbox, and all i practice on is 9 fters... But, serveral of my friends play on barboxes, so ill let them know about it, and try to get you a few more competetors...

Even if you don't like to play on barboxes we have 9 fts. for play also. The 9 fts we save for those who want some action. Lots of action at this tourney!
