Ned Morris rebuild & Ron Thomas case

This is probably my favorite playing cue on the planet.
Ned has a rep for making some awesome players.
This cue is no exception!
I originally bought this for a STEAL here on the forums.
It had a weird buzz, which right away I knew there was
something going on. But oddly, the hit still felt great.
This prompted me to reach out to Ned,
and we ended up having a great 2hr conversation.
Nearing the end of our chat, he asked me to describe the
issue with the cue.
Right away, he pegged the problem,
and I sent it off for repair.
Turned out the handle was cracked,
and someone tried a non-professional repair.
The only solution was to basically "rebuild" the cue.
Since it was such a bargain,
I agreed to have the work done.
And who better than the original maker for the repair.
Ned really out did himself. The cue came back pristine!
Thanks to Martin @superiorcues.com, it has one of
the nicest premium EE wraps I ever saw!
I asked Ned to make matching j/p's and they're
perfect.
The cue plays like a tuning fork with a tip on it.
Every bit of feedback is felt in your hand.
Smooth and solid; like a frozen stick of butter. Lol.
The way it plays instantly gives you more confidence
and consistent results. Truly a fine instrument.
Many thanks again to Ned for the help,
and for being such a good guy.

that cue played nice, I always thought it was the tips that made it feel "buzzy" and not the cue..it was never worked on while I owned it and any work previous to that was not disclosed to me. glad it worked out for you, it's a nice cue

Hey there Andy!
It definitely worked out.
You're an awesome guy and I bought the cue so cheap
there's no room for complaints! Lol.
After all was said and done,
the cue ended up at about retail cost.
Plus the caps of course.
Ned mentioned the cue had a different wrap originally.
That was his main indicator for the cue having been
worked on.
I'm absolutely one happy camper!
Thank you again!

Great story and cue. What type of wrap is that?

Kevin

Thank you Kevin!
It's one of the nicest premium elephant ear wraps
that Martin had.
He said maybe even one of the best he ever saw.
I am very appreciative to everyone that helped
this cue find it's way to me.

I really like that cue it screams player.
I never got to try one of Neds cues, hopefully someday.
