I agree 100%
I also think you shouldn't expect a guy to have to wait around all day for a table to be delivered or expect a guy to have to drive to a terminal and deal with potential problems there
tables are delivered all the time directly to the customers home without The customer lifting a finger. having to wait for truck or go pick up the table is a non STD cost. The increased cost for that makes doing a job on a cheaper table not worth the effort as I would charge more for that hassle
then exactly what do you think is a fair price for that, then doing the job and taking away the garbage
What do other guys think about a situation like that?
How much would you charge for all that service? Probably more than it's worth versus the table and that's why I was reluctant
when delivered to ground floor which happens all the time for me, I don't have to receive them or go get them, I charge 250
There are plenty of companies, across the country, who do exactly what I just talked about. I would say its standard practice for a company to pick it up from a freight terminal. Since there are so many internet based retailers now, a lot of mechanics have become used to this, as have Im since I do it very frequently.
Instead of you receiving, or picking up the table, you think it is better to have it delivered into the customers home by the shipping company? Make the customer check for damage? Make the customer wait for you to figure out when exactly you can get there, while she has a bunch of boxes just sitting in the middle of her floor?
For being a guy who is innovative and all about the next "cool" thing you really haven't gotten with how tables sold over the internet are done. No one has the table delivered into the home. The cost to have another company just to deliver the table into the home is much more expensive, than you doing it yourself, and also installing it.
Look at Glen, he does white glove service but to another level, he drives them to customers himself so there isn't any "freight" to charge also. I have never heard Glen complain about removing trash either, to be honest I have never heard anyone on here say one of the downsides of installing tables is the garbage.
I think you will that everyone does do exactly what I was asking of you, I found a company, he has absolutely no problem with doing it, and he has been working on tables for 30 years. He has a system for picking tables up from freight terminals, and I was happy to pay the cost to someone
eager to actually complete the job.
