The OLD ORIGINAL MOORI mediums were the best tip I ever used, but they are no more.
Best of rolls,
Ken
Yes they are, they're just called G2 Hards now. Plays and feels exactly like the original Moori medium. Hard to believe? Try it.

We aren't the Big 3 but we are winning our battles. and I will put ur Medium up against any mentioned...... G2 is currently the best testing layered I have had my hands on but they are not Big 3 either...
Ki-Tech... Better Cueing thru Modern Chemistry...

Already tested the G2 Soft, Medium and Hard... None of their grades match up to the old Moori Medium on hardness and Coefficient of Restitution.. Which are related to each other but not 1:1... Great tips but not the 2nd coming. So far none of the existing layered tips are ringers for the old Mooris... I am not even sure if there was one that we would even really know it for sure.. The Originals were 20 years ago and at this point their hit has become the stuff of legend....
Even with that Said... If you want a layered tip G2 is what I would go with......
thats the 3rd glowing recommendation of G2
is it "G2" or "G-squared"?
i was ready to go with Kumui Black but i have heard from several people that they glaze over requiring scraping etc
i dont want a high maintenance tip, already have a high maintenance car, motorcycle and girlfriend
Well Chris I don't think anyone would argue you're knowledge regarding readings on the meters you use as we all know what you do for a living. So if you say that hardness and coefficient of restitution are different then you're sure of it so I know you're right.. I don't know what all that means but I know what I feel when I hit a ball & I can see the result. I played the holy grails all through the 90's & stashed enough away that I didn't run out too long ago and in hit, feel, performance the G2 Hard is close enough to the old Moori mediums in how they play than anything else out there, almost imperceptible. I've got nothing but love for you though & I'll say if I was going to buy a non layered tip then the KiTech Medium it would be. When I ran out of my Old Moori's I tried a lot of new tips looking for a new go to & yours were it in the end until I found the G2's. You make a great product
Hey quick question, I play with a medium tip on my z2. Would or should I use the same tip for 3142 shaft. Just curious if you had any experience with either shaft and playing around tip configuration?
Thanks

Hahah If I answer that question I'll set off the 3rd world war... Or at least one bigger than the aiming system war that left millions dead and many more crippled or homeless here on AZ....
Will say this and leave it alone... If you goto with the medium on the 314 2 and you can't seem to throw the balls as well, drop down to a medium/soft or soft... Or if your cueball travel is more than you have programmed into your head, don't reprogram drop down in hardness....

Not only does the Colonel always get the chicken, he always
gets it when it comes to tips and threads started about tips...
....G2 G2 G2 G2 G2This is what I would go with, the top 3
you mentioned would be no better than 2,3, and 4 if G2 had
been on the list IMO.
I prefer the G2 medium and have yet to try the soft or hard G2
versions. I haven't had a reason to, because the mediums are
so good.
I would like to try one of Renfro's K-Tech tips one day, as well,
they've had exellent reviews from what I've read. By the awy,
Colonel, I still have 2 of the 1st generation Moori mediums and
they were a C note per tip...lol, but true. I sent one to Dennis
Searing last month, he's making a couple of shafts for a cue
that I acquired a couple months back. I've been saving those
tips for the right shaft. One will have one of my 1st gen Moori's
on it and the other shaft he's making will have a..............wait
for it..............G2 medium.
Hope this helps OP and sorry for any derailment of your thread.
Do you have them pressed?
I see that McDermott uses the Tiger Everest tip on even their cheapest US made cues, the GS Series ($210-$235)
but not on their "Manufactured globally" secondary brands. Star, Lucky, Element $32.50+ which seem to use a un-named Chinese tip
Their Mid-Line cues: The G Series w/ G-Core shaft($255-$699) also use the Tiger Everest
but
Their Up-Line Series: G Series w/ Intimidator Shaft ($750-$2,050) use the Kamui Black Tip
Conclusion: McD seems to feel that while the Tiger Everest is worthy of their top selling cues, their most expensive products get the Kamui
